Charles Burns Sculpt

I’m  a big fan of Charles Burns work. I had some free time and sculpted this monster based off an art piece from Permagel.  I strayed from the concept a bit in proportion and pose because I want to get him 3d printed. I don’t want him top heavy and falling over. I also don’t want him looking down when he’s finally printed and sitting on my desk. I want to see his beautiful face! I’d love to do a whole line of these things and print up a bunch of vinyl toys.. So Charles burns if you or your people happen to see this, feel free to get in touch with me!

I modeled and Textured 10 characters for the Harmonix Game Record Run. I’ve always had a soft spot for rhythm games (Gitaroo man, Bust a groove, Um Jammer Lammy, anyone?) Plus, I love the style:

The Destroyer was fun to make. The heat ray  face texture has 2 states: half open and completely open. This way the animators were able to flash the “half way open” state for a couple frames, making it look like the mask was actually opening. Smoke and mirrors 😉

We have a new studio reel at SG! The studio is producing amazing work, I’m honored to work with such a talented team.

My character department made every character seen in the reel except the Telltale and Double Fine Characters. It’s a ton of work, but seeing these characters come to life is worth every moment!
